They were dubbed Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and everywhere pokemon has been freaking out! Whether relating to the forever-remembered trumpets from generation 3 or things they can’t wait to be remade, places like reddit have been freaking out all day because of hype.
Currently not much has been released, but this was posted on the official page:
Announcing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Prepare for an epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokémon!
Pokémon fans first enjoyed Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Look forward to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when the games launch worldwide in November 2014!
They also posted a very early-made announcement video:
Serebii also stated “The boxes feature Groudon & Kyogre, with some strange cosmetic alterations, and in Europe & Japan, the cases of the games come in Red and Blue respectively”.
Speculation has arisen that the “strange cosmetic alterations” of Groudon and Kyogre on the box art are Mega Evolutions, a feature added in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, but unfortunately we will not know until Nintendo and/or the Pokemon Company releases more information.
Update: Serebii has reported “During the Investor Briefing today, Satoru Iwata confirmed that Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are full-remakes of the 2002 releases, Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire.” This seems to have ended speculation that it will be a new game.
